  • your email address
  • your username
  • your password

Table Of Contents

Adding an account:

Step 1: From the menu select: Tools->Account Settings

Step 2: Click the Add Button and select Mail.

Step 3: Enter Your Name and click Next.

Step 4: Enter Your Email Address and click Next.

Step 5: Select either POP3 or IMAP for the incoming mail server. POP3 is normally what you want. (See information below for more details.) Also enter mail.infogears.com for both incoming and outgoing servers. Click Next.
POP3 Option: Moves mail from the server to your computer. If you get lots of large email, and have a smaller quota you will want to use this option.
IMAP Option: This one allows you to leave all mail on the server. The advantage of this is that you can access all your email from anywhere at anytime. However, if you do not have much email space, your mailbox will become full, and you will not be able to receive any more messages.
Recommendation: Use POP3 in most cases. For those that would like the IMAP option, please contact InfoGears about getting your quota increased for an additional fee.

Step 6: Enter your username (usually different than email address) and password. Do NOT check "Log on using ...(SPA)". Click Next.

Step 7: Ok, we're finished with the wizard, but still have more to do. Click Finish.

Step 8: You should be back at the Accounts Window. If not you can get back there by going to Tools->Accounts from the menu as you did in step 1. Select the mail.infogears.com account, and click the Properties button.

Step 9: Select the servers tab. Then make sure that "My server requires authentication" is checked. After that, click on the Settings button.

Step 10: Click "Log on using". Enter your username (NOT your email address) and password. Click OK.

Step 11: Select the Advanced Tab. Enter 8025 for "Outgoing mail (SMTP)". Check both "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" checkboxes. If incoming mail(POP3) is not changed to 995, then change it to that. Click OK.

Step 12: Close your "Internet Accounts" window. You should be all set now!

Modifying an existing account:

Start at step 8 above, and verify that your settings look similar. (Only usernames, passwords, and email address should be different.) The main properties window should look similar to this:
